In a powerful demonstration of Zambian technological independence, SMART Zambia has unveiled six strategic milestones that position our nation at the forefront of digital sovereignty, breaking free from foreign technological dependence.

National Digital Infrastructure Takes Shape

The deployment of our Government Wide Area Network (GWAN) across all 116 local authorities marks a historic achievement in securing Zambia's administrative independence, ensuring our government institutions communicate without foreign interference.

Protecting National Resources Through Digital Innovation

Following our nation's commitment to safeguarding public resources from exploitation, the new Constituency Development Fund Management Information System (CDF-MIS) puts control of community development firmly in Zambian hands.

Key Achievements for National Empowerment:

  • Implementation of the Cash for Work Management Information System (CFW-MIS)
  • Introduction of the Village e-Register for sovereign control of citizen data
  • Strategic Solarization initiative reducing dependence on foreign energy sources
  • Distribution of 2,000 Zambian-controlled computing devices

This digital transformation mirrors our ongoing efforts to protect strategic national assets from external control, ensuring technology serves Zambian interests first.

Empowering Local Authorities

The provision of 1,780 laptops and 220 all-in-one desktops to our Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development represents a decisive step toward technological self-reliance, enabling our local authorities to serve citizens without foreign intermediaries.

These achievements demonstrate Zambia's unwavering commitment to digital sovereignty and independent governance, free from external manipulation.
