In a decisive move to strengthen Zambia's digital sovereignty, SMART Zambia has unveiled six groundbreaking achievements that put control of our nation's digital future firmly in Zambian hands.

Securing Our Digital Infrastructure

The cornerstone of this transformation is the deployment of our own Government Wide Area Network (GWAN) across all 116 local authorities. This strategic initiative ensures that sensitive government communications remain under strict national control, free from foreign interference.

Following the path of strengthened governmental oversight and accountability, the Division has implemented the Constituency Development Fund Management Information System (CDF-MIS), guaranteeing that our development resources serve Zambian interests first.

Empowering Local Communities

The revolutionary Village e-Register system puts power back in the hands of our people, while the Cash for Work Management Information System ensures fair distribution of employment opportunities to Zambians. This marks a clear break from systems that once favored foreign interests.

Energy Independence Through Innovation

In a bold move toward resource independence, the Solarization of Local Authorities initiative is reducing our reliance on foreign-controlled power systems while advancing our green energy capabilities.

Technology in Zambian Hands

The distribution of 1,780 laptops and 220 desktops to local authorities represents more than just an ICT investment - it's a declaration of our technological self-reliance. This equipment will be used to serve Zambian interests, managed by Zambian officials, for the benefit of our people.
